Jio GigaFiber fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband registrations will start on August 15 and interested users can browse the MyJio app or the company’s website on India’s Independence Day on August 15 to register for a new broadband connection from the telecom operator. During its 41st AGM, Reliance Jio announced the launch of Jio GigaFiber broadband services and with a tagline of “Banao India ko Giga Ready”. Jio GigaFiber is claimed to offer speeds of up to 1Gbps.
Jio GigaFiber has been in the testing phase for over two years now and during Reliance Industries Limited’s 41st AGM, Mukesh Ambani announced that the Jio GigaFiber connection will be available for registrations from August 15 in India.
While there has been no official word on the Jio GigaFiber plans and prices, earlier reports have suggested that the Jio GigaFiber testing has proved that the broadband service is capable of offering 700Mbps speeds on an average while the company claims that Jio GigaFiber speed will reach up to 1Gbps.
Jio GigaFiber registrations will begin from August 15 in India and on this day, people will also be able to book a new Jio Phone 2 from the MyJio App and Jio.com, which is the company’s official website. Coming to the Jio GigaFiber broadband services, Reliance Jio will be introducing its new Jio GigaFiber in 1100 Indian cities in the initial stages.
Jio GigaFiber registrations from August 15: How to register for the Jio GigaFiber on MyJio, Jio.com
Step 1: Head to the MyJio App or the company’s official website Jio.com
Step 2: Click on the Jio GigaFiber registrations options
Step 3: Enter your details such as contact number, address, email account etc.
Step 4: Now apply for a new Jio GigaFiber connection by entering all the needed details for registration.
Step 5: Since the Jio GigaFiber registrations are free, you won’t be charged anything upfront while an installation team will reach your home on a specified date which will be mentioned in the confirmation message or mail.
Step 6: The installation team will bring the Jio GigaRouter with them to install the new Jio GigaFiber connection.
Earlier reports have highlighted that in order to get a new Jio GigaFiber broadband connection, you might have to pay Rs. 4,500 up front to the installation team as a security deposit for the Jio GigaRouter, and on the other hand, Reliance Jio has confirmed that the Jio GigaFiber service will be free for new users for the first three months of getting a connection.
