Google Maps, one of the most used navigation apps used by millions worldwide, is getting a nifty new feature that will let users share location much easily. To share a location, one would have to select it on Google Maps, tap on the ‘share’ option and select the desired third-party app through which it can be shared. It also gives the option to ‘copy’ the address with a Google Maps link and paste it where ever you want. Now sharing a location in Maps is becoming easier as the app will itself suggest where to paste the copied clipboard.
Found by XDA Developers, if you already have the address copied from any third-party app, it will suggest you to paste it in the search box by giving a simple drop down with the address. You just need to tap on the drop down and get going. It is said that the feature is coming as apart of a server-side update so it is not really necessary for you to stay on the latest version. This nifty feature saves your time to long press on the search box, paste the address and then search for it.
We saw a similar feature being introduced in Google Chrome’s mobile version recently and bringing it in Google Maps makes sense and saves a lot of manual pasting. This feature is being said to show up on Samsung Galaxy S10e on Google Maps so one can expect other Android handsets to get this eventually. There are no details of this coming to the iOS version of the app.
Maps keeps getting new features from time to time and most of them are initially rolled out to select people as a part of tests. Earlier this month the app was spotted with a feature that lets users report traffic ‘slowdowns’.
